Description

Himawari Kunogi from the manga xxxHOLiC by Clamp.

Oh well… what can I say… my real-life friends knows that I’ve been struck on this drawing since a long, long time. (The rough sketch appeared in my 2009 summary of art O_______o [link] ) I never abandoned it, and tried to correct the pose, the hair, the dress countless times. Then my talented friend Kinnara saw it, and with two strokes of pencil, she showed me the way to make it better. I want to thank her infinitely, this wouldn’t have worked without her. Any remaining flaws –I know there are many- are my own fault. But well, it’s finished at last.
I just wanted to portray the grace this character embodies, the purity of her special smile. You know that I love her, as I love all the protagonists of xxxHOLiC (……let’s say that the “Rou” part never existed at all. Let’s say it, please. -___-), so I wanted to offer her a decent tribute. I would have liked this piece to be far more complex, with a background of sunflowers, with a richer dress… alas, that’s all my hand can do. ^^’ I tried and tried, and in the end decided that it was better leaving things like this than not colouring it at all. I hope you can appreciate it even though it’s not a masterpiece. THANKS FOR VIEWING!!
Dedicated to ~Olaunis, who deserves far more than this. Much, much more.

PS: ….my little “How to draw curls” tutorial will follow shortly! :blushes:

Gorgeous work! So YOU were the one who drew this! I saw this pic posted on tumblr sometime ago and I thought OH MY GOD WHOEVER DREW ALL THOSE CURLS IS AMAZING! Hima-chan's hair is such a pain for me to draw, whether its in her twintails or half-up-half-down style.
